THE NAME OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON
John 3:14-15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
If you believe in The Son of Man, you will have Eternal Life.
Who is The Son of Man? Well, Ezekiel was called the son of man, and our Lord implies that He is also called The Son of Man. But what does that mean?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
If you believe in The Only Begotten Son you will have Eternal Life. But what does that mean?
John 3:17-18 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
God sent His Son into the world to save the people in this world, not to condemn them. If we believe on Him, we are not condemned.
But those who do not believe on Him are already condemned. Why are they condemned? Because they are dead in their sins and they do not believe in The Name of The Only Begotten Son so that they might receive Life.
What is “The Name?”
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
This is the second rider on a white horse in Revelation, and He is declared to be Christ Jesus. Remember that the first rider on a white horse was The Antichrist, that old serpent, Satan, The Devil.
Rev 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Here it is revealed to us that our Lord’s Name is a secret that only He knew Himself. Do you know His Name? If not, then how can you possibly believe it?
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
This is The Name of The Only Begotten Son of God. Those who do not believe are already condemned. But those who do believe in The Word of God, The Only Begotten Son, have Eternal Life.
Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.
THE NEW COVENANT
Deu 29:1-4 These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb. And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
God promised Eternal Life to everyone who would obey His Law perfectly from a pure heart. But here we see that our Lord left out a few things essential to any of us ever being able to succeed in achieving that goal on our own, “an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear.”
The Messiah, The Only Begotten Son of God, came according to promise and obeyed God’s Law perfectly. After His death and burial, the grave could not hold Him and He arose and Lived with Eternal Life!
God’s Law thus was demonstrated to have full effect of force in yielding life or death according to obedience or disobedience.
The Bible is divided into two major parts, The Old Testament and The New Testament. A testament is a covenant or contract, and is often used to establish a legal contract, called a will, for the dividing of an estate to the heirs after the death of the testator.
The Old Covenant was based on The Law which The Lord gave to Moses, but which the people could not obey perfectly because they did not have the heart and mind to do it. The New Covenant is still based on The Law but with the added provision sealed by The Blood of Christ that our transgressions of The Law are forgiven upon repentance and we will be empowered not to transgress willfully again.
The empowerment for us to live a sinless life is provided by The New Covenant and is accomplished by God giving us a new heart and mind, The Mind of Christ in us.
Jer 31:31-33 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
A covenant is a contract, and every contract our Lord made was sealed by a blood sacrifice. The New Covenant provided what was lacking in the First, a new heart and mind. Our Lord spoke of His New Covenant through another prophet for emphasis:
Eze 36:26-28 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Have you repented, my friend, and turned your heart back to our Father? If so, then you are ready to enter into The New Covenant, and God will give you the heart and mind of Christ Jesus, and in Him is no sin. This Covenant has already been sealed by The Blood of The Only Begotten Son, and is freely available to anyone after repentance who asks for it. So do ask our Father for it.
Heb 10:14-17 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Once we have had our heart and mind transplant, figuratively speaking, our Father will write His Law into our new hearts and minds and we will obey it, and our sins will be blotted out and remembered no more.
In other words, our transgressions written in the books maintained in Heaven which clearly show us as GUILTY, will be blotted out and the designation over stamped in those books will become INNOCENT! Of course, the new Baby Jesus dwelling in us will need proper feeding, and that is the sincere Milk of The Word of God, which we can freely obtain by daily study.
Do you have eyes to see and ears to hear? Do you have an heart to perceive?
These Divine Gifts are freely offered through The New Covenant in Christ Jesus.
Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.
THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
John 3:17-18 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
The Name of The Only Begotten Son of God is The Word of God. Anyone who does not believe The Word is condemned.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Christ Jesus, The Word of God, is The Light that came into the world.
John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Transgressors of God’s Law hide in the darkness of this world and run away from God’s Word. Why? Because the Scriptures show them up for what they are, and make them ashamed. When they refuse to admit to themselves that they are ashamed, because of their arrogance they become angry by the confrontation, and hate God’s Word.
Their behavior is EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of sincere Repentance. So they remain in condemnation all their lives.
John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Only people of a sincere heart are humble enough to repent when they are shown they are guilty of displeasing God.
And they quickly repent, because they love God and want to please Him, and think of Him as their Dear Heavenly Father. So they study God’s Word without fear, because whenever they may feel ashamed by their past behavior, they immediately pray for forgiveness and strive to change their behavior from that point on.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Christians can quickly determine who is sincere and who is not. Just turn the “Light On.” Open a Bible in your home when “friends” are over for a visit. Don’t preach, but just ask if anyone would like to read a few verses with you, maybe perhaps on a different day and time, if that is more convenient.
It’s always appropriate for Christians to have a home Bible Study group, even if it is only their immediate family. Those friends who have no fear and choose to read a while with you are usually sincere and humble. Those who mock or just decide to stay away from you probably aren’t your friends anyway, at least not at the present time.
John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
Try not to judge anyone, but set an example of being a peace loving Christian, not preaching dogmatically, but teaching from a self giving heart if you have knowledge. Remember, you dwell in The Light while most others live in Darkness.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Let other people judge themselves. Jesus said that those who come to The Light have no fear of being shown up for what they are, but those who refuse are ashamed of the things they do.
So in this manner we can learn who is suitable to become our friends and who is not, at least not close friends. They may just be ignorant, but they also may be deceitful and dangerous. What is most important is that we remain faithful to God.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
This is The Name of The Only Begotten Son of God, The Light sent into this world.
Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.
