The Blood of Christ — Part 11

Luk 22:63-65 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him. And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee? And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.

The guards mocked Jesus, and hit Him. They blindfolded Him and smacked His face demanding that He tell them who was smacking Him on the face. They continued mocking and abusing Him until day break.

Luk 22:66-67 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying, Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:

The scribes, among whom were some Kenites, took Him to their judgment seat, and began to interrogate Him. “Are you The Messiah?” Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe.” They were not foreordained to believe in Jesus.

Luk 22:68-70 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go. Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God. Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.

They asked Him if He was The Son of God. Jesus answered, “You said that.” Our Lord does have a way with words.

Psa 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Our Father had already declared that we were all sons of God. Jesus had not claimed anything not attributable to each one of us.

Luk 22:71 And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

Jesus had not said either yes or no to their question. But those bloodthirsty men suddenly declared falsely that He was guilty of a terrible crime! Whose words were coming out of the mouths of those scribes and priests? Bearing false witness carries the same penalty as the crime falsely accused, and in this case, DEATH!

Luk 23:1-2 And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate. And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.

They took Him to Pilate, who was the Roman governor of Judea subject only to Caesar, and accused Him of trying to lead Israel into apostasy, even telling people not to pay taxes, and declaring Himself to be The Messiah, The Anointed One, The King of Israel. They accused Him of this to claim that Jesus was trying to start an insurrection against Roman rule. To Pilate, that could be a problem.

Luk 23:3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.

So Pilate asked Jesus if He was The King of The Jews. Jesus simply answered, “You said that.” Our Lord does have a way with words.

But remember, His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Jesus was not trying to defend Himself, but was allowing those Sons of Satan who were falsely accusing Him to cause Him to be put to death for our sins.

Luk 23:4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.

The Roman governor could not find Jesus guilty of any offense.

Luk 23:5-7 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place. When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean. And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.

Pilate was a politician, and perceived a diplomatic way to avoid being burdened any more with this problem presented by the Kenites regarding Jesus. So he sent Him to Herod, the Jewish “king” of Judea and Jerusalem by Roman appointment.

Luk 23:8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.

Herod had been desiring to meet Jesus and was glad to see Him, because he had heard about miracles Jesus had performed, and hoped that He would do a miracle for his own entertainment.

Luk 23:9-11 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing. And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.

Herod could not figure out what to do with Jesus. So he sent Him back to Pilate.

After all of this hearing of this supposed criminal case, we can conclude that Pilate and Herod both perceived the hypocrisy and falsehood of those scribes and priests accusing Jesus of capital crimes yet unable to present any real evidence.

Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.

The Blood of Christ — Part 12

Joh 19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

Jesus was whipped with a cat of nine tails, which were nine leather straps tipped with metal pieces that cut through flesh with each lash.

Joh 19:2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

Blood dripped down Jesus’ face and neck from the thorns pressed into His head. The purple robe was to mock Him for claiming to be a king.

Joh 19:3-5 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

Those scribes and priests were such pious and religious men on the surface, but were of such Satanic spirits they must have been smacking their lips at the sight of the blood covering our Lord’s head.

Joh 19:6-14 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid; And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer. Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar. When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha. And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

It was about noontime when Pilate presented Jesus the last time.

Joh 19:15-17 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

They led Jesus to Golgotha to be crucified.

Mat 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

The soldiers shared His garments among themselves, but His inner garment was seamless, woven in one piece, so they gambled for that.

Psa 22:16-18  For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.   I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.   They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Everything that happened that day was according to prophesy.

Mat 27:36-45 And sitting down they watched him there; And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

From noon until three in the afternoon, it became pitch dark. A Solar Eclipse would indicate that this was indeed a SET TIME. But what solar eclipse has ever lasted for THREE HOURS?

Mat 27:46-47 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

Did The Most High forsake His Only Begotten Son? Why did Jesus yell out loud these words while nailed to the cross? Was He praying for Elijah to save Him?

Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.

The Blood of Christ — Part 13

Psa 22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

The question, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” that Jesus asked in the Hebrew is simply, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”

Our Lord had begun reciting this psalm while hanging from the cross. The scriptures imply that He quoted it to completion, and immediately after yelling out the last verse of this psalm with His last breath, He died.

Psa 22:2-8 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

These sayings were exactly what certain people standing around the cross had said about Him, thereby fulfilling this prophesy.

Psa 22:9-16 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts. I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly. Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

The Synagogue of Satan had surrounded Jesus and arrested Him. They caused the Romans to drive iron nails through His hands and feet. Again, this was to fulfill prophesy.

Psa 22:17-18 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

The soldiers had divided up the material of His clothing, all except for His inner garment which was seamless, for which they had to gamble. Do you see the fulfillment of prophesy?

Psa 22:19-22 But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me. Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog. Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns. I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

Our Lord already declared The Name of The Father, and will again declare it.

Psa 22:23-24 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

The Most High had not forsaken Jesus, but these things must come to pass.

Psa 22:25-30 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations. All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul. A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

A remnant of the people will serve The Most High, and they will be counted as an entire generation. These are The Elect of God. So we see an example of the word, “generation,” being used to mean a type of people, chosen by God since the First Earth Age, to serve Him.

Psa 22:31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

The ending phrase, “that he hath done this,” may also be translated as “IT IS FINISHED.”

Joh 19:28-29 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

They gave Him wine vinegar to drink, again fulfilling prophesy.

Psa 69:16-29  Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies. And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily. Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies. Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee. Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

Do you see the fulfillment of prophesy?

Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Our Lord had fulfilled all prophesy concerning Him, and when He had recited the very last phrase of Psalm 22, “it is finished,” He died.

The Blood of Christ — Part 14

Joh 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Crucifixion was a very slow death, and suffocation was the ultimate cause. Hanging by the hands above and with the feet nailed firmly at the bottom, a man would slump down from exhaustion unable to breathe, but would lift up suffering the pain in his feet in order to take another breath. By breaking the legs, a man could not lift up again to take another breath and would soon suffocate.

Joh 19:32-33 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

The soldiers realized that Jesus was already dead, and so did not break His legs. Jesus had died quickly.

Joh 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

They bled Him like a sacrificial animal.

Joh 19:35-36 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

But not one of His bones could be broken, according to The Law, because our Lord was The Lamb of God, The Lamb that God Most High had provided, The Passover Lamb.

Exo 12:46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

The soldiers therefore drove a sword through His side to make certain that He was dead.

Joh 19:37-42 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced. And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

The body of our Lord was prepared and placed in a sepulcher. Just as He had told His disciples, those wicked hypocrites who ruled the Temple in Jerusalem had put Him to death. And we know that everything that happened was to fulfill the prophesies about The Messiah. Therefore, Jesus was The Messiah. And The New Covenant is now in full force by the power of God’s Word.

Gen 3:14-15 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

This was according to The Lord’s Prophesy about The Messiah. The Children of The Devil had succeeded in “bruising the heels of our Lord.” The second part of this prophesy yet to be fulfilled is the crushing of Satan’s head!

Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.
