Fellowship with The Father and The Son
1Jn 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
What was from “In The Beginning?” What have we heard? What have we seen with our eyes, looked upon, and held in our hands? The Word of Eternal Life.
1Jn 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
The Word of God is called The Word of Life, Eternal Life.
Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Jesus said that our “spirit” or “mind” gives life to our body, and that His Words that came out of His mouth were indeed Spirit and Eternal Life.
1Jn 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
Playing church has nothing to do with having fellowship with The Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus never said we must go to some church in order to receive Eternal Life or to have fellowship with Him and The Father.
In order to have this Life and this Fellowship, we must enter into The New Covenant.
1Jn 1:4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
Do you desire fullness of joy? John is now explaining to us the way to receive it.
1Jn 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Sin is the transgression of The Law. Darkness symbolizes lawlessness or sinfulness. Whereas light symbolizes purity in our obedience to God’s Law. God Himself is Pure and without Sin.
1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
The notion of walking is the very course of our daily lives, what we say and do, how we behave with other people, how we spend our time. It is impossible to have fellowship with Christ while also being disobedient to God’s Will explained in detail in His Law.
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
When we obey God’s Law, then we thereby demonstrate loving our neighbor as our self, because God’s Law is The Law of Love. Our behavior will be kind and forgiving, self-giving, because we are careful in our obedience. God’s Law is The Law of Love, and through our humility and willing obedience we are forgiven all previous trespasses, which is The Promise of The New Covenant.
Joh 14:5-6 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
After repentance and accepting The New Covenant in Christ’s blood shed for our sins, we all have Fellowship with The Father and with The Son, by staying in The Word of Life each day.
Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.
