The Days of Noah — Part 1
Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Jesus was finishing His teaching of The Seven Seals which described the conditions and events that would lead up to His Return at The End of This World. He concluded by declaring that His Word would not pass away. The Word of God is Eternal.
Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Concerning the very end of this world, Jesus declared that no man could ever know the exact day and time of the end. Do not let any man deceive you, my friends, because only The Father in Heaven knows the exact time. But Jesus did teach us many details of the events leading up to that final time, and by observing these details come to pass one by one, we can perceive when it will be near.
Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Then Jesus explains that The Time of The End will be like The Days of Noah. We can review how those days were in ancient time to get an idea of what to look for in These Last Days.
Mat 24:38-39 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Jesus explains that He is referencing the time before The Flood of Noah. So our focus of study should be on what was going on in the world during Noah’s days leading up to The Flood. Jesus also describes what was going on back then that we should consider, “they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage.” But what’s so special about that?
Gen 5:21-24 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
The statement, “Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him,” declares that Enoch ascended into Heaven. He did not see death of the flesh as we know it. The notion that “Enoch walked with God” indicates that Enoch was righteous and pleased God, which explains why God just took him out of this world. The Scriptures explicitly declare two others besides Enoch who ascended into Heaven, Elijah and Jesus The Christ. And it is implied that Moses also ascended, but it was not explicitly written.
Jud 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Enoch was a preacher, a prophet, who taught about The Coming of The Lord. This fact gives us confidence that Jesus did indeed want us to consider what was going on back in those days to understand how it would be at The End of The World.
There will very likely be a Preacher of the stature of Enoch in These Last Days who will be teaching about The Coming of The Lord. And don’t be deceived by hypocrites and arrogant fools parading around today. There are simply not many true teachers of God’s Word in the world. The truth is, most of what claims to be Christian is actually Satanism in disguise.
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
So we see that in the days of Enoch, there were certain people who were wicked and who hated God and spoke against Him, just as we see in this world today. And no doubt but that Enoch was preaching against those very people and trying to get them to repent and trying to warn people who had not yet been deceived enough to follow their ways. So for us, expect more and more wicked people than we already see blaspheming God publicly as it was in the days of Enoch.
Gen 5:25-29 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech: And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died. And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son: And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
The name “Noah” is from the Hebrew, “no’-akh,” which means “rest.” So The Lord would give the descendants of Adam a rest in the days of Noah. Consider that the word “Sabbath” is from another Hebrew word that means “rest.” And when our Lord returns to establish His Kingdom, that will commence with The First Resurrection, when all who have overcome the deception of Satan in this world will inherit Eternal Life and no longer be in jeopardy of The Second Death at The Judgment. So The Millennial Reign of Christ will indeed be a time of “rest” for all true Christians.
Gen 5:30-32 And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died. And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Now Enoch had ascended into Heaven, and three generations later came Noah, his great grandson, who had three sons. One interesting note here is that normally when a list of the names of sons is given, they are usually listed in order starting from the oldest, or firstborn, to the youngest. But in this case, Japheth is the firstborn, then Ham, then the youngest son was Shem. Now the word “Shem” means “name.” And it is from this Hebrew word that we get the term “Shemite” or “Semite,” that is to say, Shem was the origin of the Semitic people.
The Days of Noah — Part 2
Gen 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
The word “men” is from the Hebrew “aw-dawm’” which means “ruddy, that is, a human being (an individual or the species, mankind, etc.)” The word “ruddy” is in the sense of “ruddy complected.” Note that the subject of the previous chapter is carried forward, which was about the descendants of Adam. So this passage could read, “when Adamites began to multiply,” because this follows the listing of the generations of Adam.
When the word “Adam” is capitalized in the King James translation, in the Hebrew text it is preceded with the equivalent article “the,” as in, “the adam,” and often even more emphatically as “that certain Adam,” because it refers to a certain man who was made after The Lord rested on The Seventh Day, when He looked around and realized that He did not have a man to till the soil, in other words, He did not have a farmer. So The Lord made “that certain Adam” to till the soil.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
The Lord gave the races created on The Sixth Day or millennium dominion over fish, fowl, and beasts. Thus they were fishermen, fowlers, and hunters. Note they were not originally farmers. Also note that since a “day” with The Lord is a thousand years, the races had already been living in this world for about two thousand years before God made Adam. And there was no death, so the earth was already well populated before God made Adam.
The word “earth” in Genesis 6:1 is from “ad-aw-maw’” which means “soil (from its general redness).” And its root word is “aw-dawm’” thus it literally means “Adam’s land.” So we are discussing the descendants of The Man Adam dwelling in The Land of Adam. The Hebrew word usually used for “earth” as in the “terrafirma” of the planet is “eh-rets.” Since this word meaning “Adam’s Land” is used here, it suggests that The Flood of Noah may not have been worldwide, but may have been just the local region where the descendants of Adam lived.
The ancient legends of the various races, for example the Chinese, describe a great flood that destroyed the people in a vast area, and since those folks themselves survived in order to tell about it, The Flood of Noah did not destroy everybody among the races because they still exist in vast numbers. And we know that pure White folks cannot produce Black babies, nor can pure Black folks produce Chinese babies, etc. Such an idea is simply scientifically impossible. But we know that all of the descendants of Adam were destroyed except for Noah and his family, because It Is Written. And we are about to learn why God destroyed them all.
Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
The “sons of God” are angels in this context, and more specifically The Fallen Angels, because they left Heaven and came to the earth in their supernatural angelic form. We know that this term means “angels” because otherwise it would simply be “men” or “aw-dawm’” in the text rather than “sons of God.”
Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
The “first estate” for angels is Heaven. So the angels that Judas refers to are The Fallen Angels, the ones described here in Genesis who began marrying the “daughters of Adam.” Thus we can understand who the “they” were when our Lord said “they were marrying and giving in marriage.”
Now the plot thickens, because the fact that the Adamites were marrying was nothing special, but since it turns out that The Fallen Angels were marrying the female descendants of Adam, that is a serious matter indeed. Why? Because they were defiling the natural generations of Adam in order to prevent the coming of The Promised Messiah, Who must come through the Adamic blood line.
Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
The Lord declared that there would be conflict between Satan’s Offspring and Eve’s Offspring by Adam. Satan’s offspring were the generations of Cain up through the appearance of Christ. And Adam’s Offspring were the generations of Seth (because Abel was murdered) up through the generation of The Messiah. When nails were driven through our Lord’s feet, the second part of this prophesy was fulfilled. The head of That Old Serpent, Satan, The Devil, has not yet been crushed, but it will be in due time to complete the prophesy.
So we can see that by polluting the pure blood line of Adam, the Messianic prophecy could not come to pass. Then just as Satan’s seduction of Eve was his first attempt to stop God’s Plan of Salvation, this invasion of The Fallen Angels, no doubt Lucifer’s devoted lieutenants in The First Earth World, was a second Satanic attempt to stop God’s Plan. This event could have been catastrophic for all of God’s Children, because without The Promised Messiah to atone for our transgressions, none of us would have any hope of receiving Eternal Life.
The Days of Noah — Part 3
Gen 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
It is very significant when The Lord defines the years of a generation of mankind, and at this time He declared that it would be for one hundred and twenty years. Recall that before Adam and Eve sinned, life in these flesh bodies was potentially endless because death due to sin had not yet entered into this world.
Gen 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
So The Lord’s commandment to Adam and Eve was not to partake of The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil, which we know was figurative for That Old Serpent, Satan, The Devil. Note that The Tree of Life was also in The Garden of Eden, and we know that it is figurative for Christ Jesus. The penalty for disobedience was that Adam would die within the “day” he sinned.
2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Peter explains that a “day” with God is like a thousand years to man. And because Adam had sinned, he had to die within that one thousand year period.
Gen 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
So Adam and his descendants lived less than one thousand years. And now The Lord is again shortening the years of man to one hundred and twenty years. Jesus said that at the end it would like the days of Noah, so this definition of a generation is important. Two other definitions are given to us in Scripture, 70 years and 40 years, but one hundred and twenty years provides the maximum limit for men to live at the end of the world. But all things are possible with God, so The Lord may grant any of us longer life if He so chooses.
Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
The offspring of The Fallen Angels were giants, in other words, they were hybrids of flesh man and angelic. The word “giants” is from the Hebrew “nef-eel’” which means “a feller, that is, a bully or tyrant.” And it is derived from “naw-fal’” which means “to fall.” So it is because of this word that we refer to the rebellious angels as Fallen Angels, because they came down from Heaven.
We know that we can eat the same food as angels, and Satan impregnated Eve, and here we learn that angels can impregnate women also. All of us have an angelic body, and it will be in that body that we return to The Lord after the death of our flesh body. Our angelic body is very similar to our flesh body except that it doesn’t grow old or sick and cannot die until The Great White Throne Judgment in The Lake of Fire.
Note that these giants became very famous and no doubt were heard about throughout the world. Thus they likely became the subjects of ancient legends of the “giant gods” with supernatural powers. And The Fallen Angels were certainly supernatural, so they were likely famous as well.
Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
The descendants of Adam became very wicked, and because of the context of this verse being in conjunction with the description of those hybrids, it implies that The Fallen Angels and in turn those Giants taught the people to rebel against The Lord and worship Satan, The Devil.
The word “wickedness” is from “rah, raw-aw’” which means “bad or (as noun) evil (naturally or morally).” The word “evil” is from the same word. We all know God’s Commandments, which would be written many hundreds of years later by Moses, that would give us detailed instruction on how to behave and how not to behave toward each other, because God’s Law is The Law of Love. His Divine Plan is for us to love one another, to be good to each other. So what were they actually thinking and doing for The Lord to say that they were totally wicked? Well, no doubt they had no respect for The Lord, and were lying, stealing, committing adultery, hating their parents, committing first degree murder, molesting children, engaging in homosexual acts, and imagining all night in their minds various plots on how to rip off their neighbors the next day, you know, the usual evil minded criminal things people do.
Gen 6:6-7 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
The Adamite bloodline was rapidly becoming completely defiled by Fallen Angels and the region where they lived was becoming populated with Giants. All hope for the coming of the Promised Messiah was quickly being lost. The people had turned to Satanism and had become wicked beyond repentance. Note that the word “earth” in verse seven is from “ad-aw-maw’” which means in this context “Adam’s Land.” So The Lord decided to destroy every man, woman, child, and every animal and bird, and every giant, literally to exterminate all life in The Land of Adam.
The Days of Noah — Part 4
Gen 6:8-9 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
The first word “generations” is from the Hebrew “to-led-aw’” which means “descent, that is, family; (figuratively) history.” The word “perfect” is from “taw-meem’” which means “entire (literally, figuratively or morally); also (as noun) integrity, truth.” The second word “generations” is from “dore” which means “a revolution of time, that is, an age or generation; also a dwelling.”
Noah was a righteous man who worshiped The Most High God, and he was of pure pedigree in his ancestry. And was that not the very problem with all of the rest of the Adamites that their bloodline had been defiled because they were cross-breeding with The Fallen Angels and giving birth to giants? Of all the many descendants of Adam, only Noah and his family remained who could possibly bring in The Promised Messiah.
Gen 6:10-11 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
The word “earth” is from “eh’-rets” which means “the earth (at large, or partitively a land).” This word can mean the entire terrafirma of the earth or it can mean a specific geographical region. The word “corrupt” is from “shaw-khath’” which means “to decay, that is, (causatively) ruin (literally or figuratively).” The word “violence” is from “khaw-mawce’” which means “violence; by implication wrong; by metonymy unjust gain.”
The geographical area where the descendants of Adam were dwelling had become completely decayed and ruined with regard to God’s Plan of Salvation for His children. There was violence among them and all of them sought after ill-gotten gain. We can see by study of history how every civilization, once it became wealthy and powerful, eventually began to turn away from all of the true virtues of men, honor, integrity, self-discipline, honest hard work, and gradually became degenerate, where the people began to prey off of each other until the entire civil society collapsed into complete anarchy and debauchery. And so it happened among the descendants of Adam before The Flood.
Gen 6:12-13 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
The Lord told Noah about the total corruption of the Adamites and of the land and that He was going to destroy everything. But of course Noah could see all of this with his own eyes. He knew of The Fallen Angels and what they had been doing to destroy the Adamites by polluting their bloodline and causing them to fall away into apostasy against The Most High. Noah’s great-grandfather had been a preacher of righteousness against all the wickedness going on among the people, so no doubt that Noah himself had suffered much persecution during his life because his family had spoken against the wickedness going on around them.
Gen 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
The word “ark” is from “tay-baw’” which means “a box.” And the word “gopher” is from “go’-fer” which means “to house in; a kind of tree or wood (as used for building), apparently the cypress.” The Lord commanded Noah to build a box out of cypress wood, with various rooms, and waterproofed with pitch. So this was obviously to be a floating box or ship. Oddly though, there were no large rivers or lakes nearby, and they were not anywhere near the sea. The word “pitch” is from ” kaw-far’” which means “to cover (specifically with bitumen).” Bitumen is from crude oil, and commonly called “tar.” It is so thick that at room temperature it appears relatively solid, although it is actually an extremely thick oil. Since ancient times men have used it to waterproof roofs of houses and the bottoms and sides of boats.
We now know that petroleum is the liquefied fossilized remains of animals that lived in The First World. So The Flood of Noah had to have been in this Second Earth Age. The cataclysmic asteroid collisions and floods that destroyed all life in The First Earth Age, which also broke up the granite foundation just below the surface of the planet, were certainly world-wide, because we find petroleum, and also coal, which is the fossilized remains of plants and trees, all over the earth, and we find impact craters on every continent that document how the planet was literally bombarded by huge rocks falling down to the earth from outer space.
Gen 6:15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
A cubit in ancient time was the length of a man’s arm from the elbow to the extremity of the middle finger, or about twenty-two inches. So the length of the ark at three hundred cubits would be 550 feet, and its width at fifty cubits would be about 92 feet, and its height was 55 feet. So this “floating box” that The Lord commanded Noah to build was actually an extremely large barge even by today’s standards. The standard barge today is 195 feet long, 35 feet wide, and can be used to a 9-foot draft. Its capacity is 1500 tons. Some of the newer barges today are 290 feet by 50 feet, double the capacity of earlier barges. So Noah’s Ark was twice the size of modern day barges.
Gen 6:16-18 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
The word “covenant” is from “ber-eeth’” which means “a compact (because it was made by passing between pieces of flesh).” In modern day language a covenant is a contract, and today we get a notary to sign and imprint their stamp or seal into the paper of the contract to officiate its binding authority. In ancient times a contract was sealed by a burnt (or cooked) offering, where both parties would eat of the offering together to seal their agreement. So Noah will need to make an offering to The Lord at some point in order to seal this covenant with God Most High, and this will occur after The Flood and after Noah and his family are standing on solid ground safe and secure in their future.
Gen 6:19-22 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
God commanded Noah to bring a pair of every breathing animal and bird into the Ark, and also to store food for him and his family and for all of the animals. Naturally he would have to build the Ark first and then gather all the animals and food. And Noah obeyed.
Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.
