The Key of David — Part 6

Isa 22:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:

The name “Eliakim” is from the Hebrew “el-yaw-keem’” which means “the God of raising,” or “whom God sets up.”

The name “Hilkiah” is from “khil-kee-yaw’” and means “portion of Jah.” Jah is the shortened form of Jehovah. Hilkiah was in charge over the house of Hezekiah, King of Judah.

Isa 22:21-22 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

For the man Eliakim, he would be exalted. But also we see in these verses the reference to The Messiah Who will have The Key of David, so that “He shall open, and none shall shut, and He shall shut, and none shall open.”

Isa 22:23-24 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house. And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.

The Messiah will be established upon a solid foundation, and will inherit the throne of His Father’s House.

Luk 11:43-45 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.

The scripture lawyers became upset by what Jesus was teaching.

Luk 11:46-47 And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

Jesus declared that the forefathers of those hypocrites murdered the prophets and then had the gall to decorate their tombs, adding their religious touch!

Luk 11:48-51 Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres. Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

Who murdered Abel? Cain. Therefore those scribes and Pharisees and lawyers were DESCENDANTS OF CAIN, THE FIRST MURDERER. And Jesus declared that they and their forefathers were guilty of all righteous blood shed since the beginning of this Second Earth Age, since The Garden of Eden. They were not of The Man Adam, and they were certainly not of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They were liars to claim that they were, but instead they were of The Synagogue of Satan.

Luk 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

The hypocrites had taken away The Key of Knowledge from the people. They themselves did not enter into The Kingdom of Heaven, and prevented other people from entering. Now we learn that this Key of Knowledge (of David) opens the door into The Kingdom of Heaven.

Luk 11:53-54 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

Those blood thirsty men sought day after day trying to find some fault with Jesus so that they could put Him to death. Remember, a key has two sides so that you can flip it over in your hand to look at the other side. We are seeing that dark side, the side of evil.

Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.

The Key of David — Part 7

Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

The title “Son of man” is The Son of Mankind having dominion over the earth and all of the works of God in the earth beginning with the dominion of The Man Adam, and even before that with the sixth day creation of the races to which God also gave various dominions.

Note that when Adam submitted to the will of That Old Serpent, he rebelled against God and gave his power of dominion to Satan, who has since been The god of this World. Our Lord came as The Second Adam.

Paul explains this, although many men struggle to grasp Paul’s teachings. Please, my friends, do not struggle, but consider with prayer and meditation, because Paul teaches from the Old Testament Scriptures.

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Christ Jesus is The Life Giving Mind. He came in the flesh as The Last Adam.

The Man Adam was the first “son of God,” made by The Creator, The Word of God. Our Lord came as The Only Begotten Son of God, The Second Adam, “The Word made flesh Who dwelt among us.”

So our Lord declares that He is “The First and The Last, The Alpha and Omega.”

1Co 15:46-47 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

So we even see an expansion in dominion, from the earthly dominion to the heavenly. First consider our Lord’s power over the earthly.

Mark 4:37-41 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Good question indeed, what manner of man was The Man Christ Jesus? As The Son of Man He demonstrated His dominion over the wind and the sea.

Jesus was tested by Satan in the wilderness before He began His ministry, as Adam was also tested in The Garden of Paradise, but our Lord was not deceived and did not bow to Satan’s will. Therefore Jesus retained His authority.

Mat 14:24-27 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

Our Lord walked on the sea in the middle of a storm. The disciples were afraid and believed they were seeing a ghost or something. Jesus had dominion over the earth which included the sea and the very Laws of Nature as shown in this second example.

Mat 14:28-29 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

And Jesus had the authority to call Peter to Him where He stood on the water, and Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. Since our Lord had the authority to call Peter and empower him to accomplish otherwise impossible tasks, then He also has the authority to call each of us.

Jesus had The Key of David, who killed the half human half angel Goliath, a giant, with a slingshot. One shot, one kill! We are beginning to perceive what that Key opens up.

Now recall we were reading from Matthew 16:13 where Jesus asked His disciples who the people imagined He might be.

Mat 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

The people had many ideas about who Jesus really was. Some thought He must have been John the Baptist who was beheaded. Others thought He was Elijah, and others that He was Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.

Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Jesus wanted to know what the disciples believed about Him. These were the men He had chosen out of this world to follow Him and learn His teaching. Do you think they understood His true identity and dominion?

Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.

The Key of David — Part 8

Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Peter gave a profession of belief that Jesus was The Messiah, The Son of The Living God. How did he know?

Isa 7:14-15 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

“Immanuel” is from the Hebrew “im-maw-noo-ale’” which means “GOD WITH US.”

Mary was a virgin when, by The Holy Spirit, she conceived our Lord. And her espoused future husband, Joseph, concluded the most natural reason for her unexpected pregnancy. Being espoused was legally the same as being married. So a divorce would be necessary to break their legal bond.

Mat 1:19-21 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

The name “Jesus” is from the Hebrew “yeh-ho-shoo’-ah” which means “Jehovah-saved.” So the name Jesus means JEHOVAH SAVIOR, or The Eternal Savior.

Isa 43:10-12 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

The Lord, Jehovah, The Eternal, declares that He alone is The Savior, and that there is no other. He alone is The God and Creator, and there is no other. And we are His witnesses in the earth in these last days.

Peter perceived the identity of Jesus, The Christ, and gave a good confession.

Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

That knowledge had been revealed to Peter by The Holy Spirit.

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The name “Peter” is from the Greek “petros” and is MASCULINE meaning “a piece of a rock.”

The word “rock” is from “petra” which is FEMININE and means “a mass of rock.”

The Greek language uses strict gender agreement between nouns, so it is impossible for “rock” to refer back to “Peter.” However the Greek word translated to confession and profession is “hom-ol-og-ee’-ah” which is FEMININE.

Therefore Jesus was referring to what Peter had just said, declaring that He would build His assembly upon the profession of faith that Peter had just given, that “Jesus was The Messiah and The Son of The Living God.” Our faith in the identity of Jesus and His Salvation is the foundation of the church or assembly.

Do not be deceived by self-exalted domineering men made of dust who claim that Jesus was talking about them. It is hard to imagine that there actually are men so arrogant in this world that they claim themselves to be the foundation of the church! Put your trust in Jesus, that is, The Word of God, and not in men.

Jesus declared that “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” that is, against His assembly of believers. Our Lord did not say that Satan would not attack, but that he would never have the victory over them.

Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.

The Key of David — Part 9

Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

After Peter had given his profession of faith, our Lord promised to give him “The Keys of The Kingdom of Heaven.” This “Key” opens a very important Door, my friends, so we should consider its power.

Then Jesus describes what it will enable Peter to do: “whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” We can substitute “lock” and “unlock” for “bind” and “loose” and render the same meaning.

Jesus was The Only Begotten Son of God, and as the Son was the heir of all things, having all power, including the Resurrection and the Life. This is the Dominion of The Son of God.

Mat 9:18-19 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.

A man came to Jesus asking Him to raise his daughter from the dead. Somehow this man knew that Jesus had Dominion over Heaven and Earth.

Mat 9:23-24 And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

Jesus said that she was not dead, meaning not twice dead, but asleep in that only her flesh body was dead because her spirit had returned to The Father.

Mat 9:25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

Jesus had the authority to cause her spirit to return to her body which immediately revived and she got up from the bed. This is an example of the Dominion of The Son of God, power over life and death.

Mark 5:1-6 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

This man possessed with devils, the minds of Fallen Angels, came and worshiped Jesus. Something supernatural was involved here, because how else could this wild man know who Jesus was?

Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Using the man’s voice, those devils identified Jesus as The Son of God and begged Him not to send them into torment. The Fallen Angels knew Jesus, because He is The Creator.

Mark 5:8-13 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

So two thousand devils (a legion) came out of the man and entered into a herd of swine which immediately committed suicide by running over a cliff into the sea and drowned. Those pigs demonstrated that they would rather die than be possessed by devils.

And our Lord demonstrated His power over all spirits or minds in Heaven and on Earth. That is the Dominion of The Son of God.

Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.

The Key of David — Part 10

Rev 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

The Most High sits on the throne.

The “right hand” is “the hand of power.”

The Most High holds a book in His right hand which is sealed. The number seven in Scripture represents spiritual or mental completeness. Therefore The Book is SEALED SHUT with spiritual or mental completeness.

Rev 5:2-4 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

Who is worthy to open The Book and open The Seals in order to read it? No man was worthy to open it, not even to look at it.

Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

The Lion of Judah, the Root of David, is Jesus, The Christ. He has overcome in order to open The Book and to unlock The Seven Seals.

Rev 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

The Lamb of God has Seven Horns and Seven Eyes which are The Seven Spirits of God.

Rev 5:7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

The Lamb of God, The Messiah, took The Book from The Right Hand of God Most High.

Rev 5:8-10 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

The Key of David has already opened so that now no man can shut, and will shut so that no man can open. Our Lord has opened The Seven Seals so that His servants, those of us who trust in His Name, may read and understand The Book.

THE TRUST IN CHRIST JESUS, THE WORD OF GOD, IS THE KEY OF DAVID.

Whosoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, let him hear.
