Arrogant Rebellion

Arrogant Rebellion

Isa 65:1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

The Gentiles were the ones who never prayed to God before but are now those who seek Him. They who never sought to find God before are now the very ones who actually find Him. And to them The Lord says, “Look at Me, look at Me,” to a people not called by the name “Israel,” which means “he shall rule with God.” This is the most extreme irony, my friends. Why? To bring in all of the Gentile Nations of the world as Children of God.

Rom 10:20-21  But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

Paul teaches that the Gentiles had always been included in God’s Plan for a set time, which was after The Messiah had come and paid the price for their redemption.

Isa 65:2-3 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

The Lord presented His outstretched arms and hands in love toward a rebellious people that transgressed His Law; whatever thought came into their minds was fine with them. They practiced Ishtar worship (goddess of human fertility and sexual perversion) on the mountaintops, where they would drink wine mixed with opium and get naked and have sex orgies just like the pagans they envied, and they built altars to Baal and Mo-lech, all which enraged our Father to anger.

Isa 65:4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

They sought the spirits of the dead and hid their deeds in secrecy. They ate the swine, and ate soups of oysters, clams, shrimp, and other kinds of filthy things.

Isa 65:5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Then they have the arrogance to tell God right to His face, “Get away from us, don’t bother us. We are more holy than You are.” But The Lord says they are like thick smoke in His nose (a bad experience), and His nose burns all day long being near them.

Isa 65:6-7  Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

The Lord is ready to execute judgement against Israel because they have rebelled against Him in every way. Now where was this judgement written?

Deu 28:64-67  And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life: In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

The Lord swore that if Israel fell away from obeying His Laws and Statutes that He would scatter them among the Gentile Nations so that they would cease to be a nation.

Isa 65:8-9  Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants’ sakes, that I may not destroy them all. And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

The Lord said that He would preserve a remnant from among all that were scattered among the nations that would return to Judea and Jerusalem so that He could fulfill His Promise to bring The Messiah into the world at a set time. And note that He said The Messiah and His Elect would inherit “The Lord’s mountains” which represent the Tribes of Israel. This prophesy will be fulfilled when Christ returns to establish His Millennial Kingdom on earth.
